Thank you! I finally finally finally made one I like!!!
I'm glad you liked Ned Kelly. I was starting to doubt my taste in movies! It was so very sad. It had me in tears at the end. <3 But I really really liked it.
I really really liked it aswell, the music and everything *s* and in in a way it was very simple, but still not (does that make sense?), just very beautiful :)
I'm watching Troy right now. Hee! First time I see the original version <3
What's your favorite movie? Or one of your favorites? I love so many movies, it's hard to decide!
God, yes, I loves the music in Ned Kelly. And the camera. God, it is so very beautiful. I think I want the DVD now, *laughs* I always end up wanting to own the DVD if I really liked the movie. Oh my *glances at DVD rack*
I love movies for all kinds of reasons. I loved Bubble Boy with Jake because it's a comic gone movie and it's just so funny and silly. And I loved Highway (again: Jake!) because it's afun road movie and to this day I don't really know what's it about.
:D
I can send you movies on CD, so you can play them on the PC if you want. :)
*ponders* well, besides the LOTR movies *s* I think one of my all time favorite movies are "Primal Fear" with Edward Norton, in very large part do to Ed, because he dosen't just play the character he is the character (in some ways like Viggo, in my opinion) and that is a great thing to see :))
I'm not sure I will be abel to see if for quite some time now (to sad), but I might like to have the DVD in the future aswell :)
*nods* I like "The Matrix" (the first movie the most), because it makes me think in different ways and I love "Boondock Saints", mostly because of the bond with the two brothers (I think) and I simply love "Mists of Avalon" (such a pretty movie) and "The 10 Kingdom" (it's really a mini series, but..) just excellent story, and if you haven't seen it I strongly rec it :)
wow, really? I can do that for you aswell, if you want me to *s* I have a few to chose from :)
As opposite to the dubbed version :) We only have dubbed versions showing in theatres, so I always have to wait for the dvd. :)
How much do I love you for loving Primal Fear?! It is one of my all time favorites! I saw it years ago and loved it immediately. And Edward Norton! He's brilliant in it. One of my favorite actors. Loved him in almost everything he did. And I certainly love Fight Club (which incidently is the movie where I started to like Brad Pitt).
I need to see Boondock Saints. I have seen clips and screen shots and just *need* to see it. I think I have seen "The 10th Kindom". *ponders* Am not sure though.
I love Donnie Darko. I feel in love with Jake when I saw it, and it's such a great movie. Then there are The Reckoning with Paul Bettany, oh, A Knight's Tale, My Neighbour Totoro (which is an anime by Studio Ghibli, the one that made Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, which are both just stunning), and, uh, do you know Gattaca? Fantastic movie starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. <3 I could go on forever!
And, yeah sure can I send you movies. <3 My hubby's brother collects them, he has like every movie there is.
Me, being the greedy fangirly person I am, need to have the dvd too, so I end up throwing away CDs with movies on them. :)
ohh, I thought they showed them in english in the theatres aswell :)
I saw "Primal Fear" a few years back aswell and I have been a die hard fan of Ed ever since, "Fight Club" is very good aswell and I really love him in "Death To Smoochy" *s* and Ed as a priest in "Keeping the Faith" *nggghh* *lol*
I also loved "American History X" and "25 Hour", but they are so awful movies, and I'm afraid they fall into the category of movies I only watch once (because they are to emotional)
*nods* you REALLY need to see boondock saints, I just LOVE it :)) "10 Kingdom" is one of my favorite fantasy movies of all times :)
yes, Donnie Darko, how could I forget *s* Jake also have some of that presence as an actor that just sucks you in <3
I love My Neighbour Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and also Kiki's Delivery Service and Whisper of the heart (by the same)
*ponders* Jude Law is in Gattaca, right?
I could go on forever! hehe, yeah, there are alot of good movies out there :)
you are so nice to me *snugs* <3 <3
I would love to have all DVD's, but I never have the money :(
OMG You know the other Ghibli movies as well! I love them all, really. Totoro is just my favorite of the bunch <3
Death To Smoochy is so funny! In a dark dark way. I have this ice cream thingies that I really like, and they are shaped like, um, rocket ships. They're even called Rocket Ice or something like that. Ever since we saw the movie everytime I get one of them, my hubby yells: That's not a rocket ship! *blushes*
And, God, Keeping the Faith. I have such a thing for boy as priests. <3 silme711 borrowed me her copy of The Order (http://german.imdb.com/title/tt0304711/) (there are two movies with the same title, therefore the link :) in which Heath is a priest. Mmm. I second that nnnghghghghghhg comment you made! *laughs*
I read the novel before I saw 25th Hour, and it's a damn well made movie. <3 I saw it once. Can't bear to watch it more often :D
I am so nice to you because I like you a lot. *snuggles*
German theatres suck. We do get one original version once in a while, but mostly of movies I don't want to see. But with the internet and DVDs, I'm a happy bunny.
Oh, and Jude Law is in Gattace. <3
Both my hubby and me are total film geeks. That's why we own so many DVDs. I suspect I'd have a lot if I were on my own, but not quite as many. :)
I'm a sucker for big movies like Lotr, Gladiator (Oh, Joaquin Phoenix was so brilliant in it! <3), Troy and Master & Commander (again with the Paul Bettany goodness). And I love everything by M. Night Shyamalan, esp. Signs (so far. Haven't seen The Village yet).
I can send you The Reckoning. It's a pretty film, nicely shot, and Paul Bettany is fantastic. It has a harsh story though. But it's brilliant, and a great great movie without special effects, a movie that just tells a story, and does it very well.
hehe, I do :) I just love them *s* they are such feel good movies (Princess Mononoke is a bit sad thou, but so pretty *s*) I'm not sure which is my favorite, I love them all for different reasons :) and btw there is another anime movie that I relly like The Grave Of The Fireflies (http://www.animenfo.com/animetitle,190,nenweg,grave_of_the_fi.html) (it's sad, but really pretty)
I just love his character Sheldon Mopes, and love his way of looking at life "You can't change the world but you can make a dent" (I try to remember that) :)
Ever since we saw the movie everytime I get one of them, my hubby yells: That's not a rocket ship! *blushes* *laughs* silly hubby <3
I have such a thing for boy as priests. mmm, it's very nice :) I got really put of by The Order when I watched it (and ended up not watching the entire movie) *shrugs* but might try to watch it again sometime :)
I saw it once. Can't bear to watch it more often :D *nods*
I am so nice to you because I like you a lot. *snuggles* <3 <3 *snugs*
We do get one original version once in a while, but mostly of movies I don't want to see. that does sound sucky :(
Oh, and Jude Law is in Gattace. <3 I saw it a while back and I really liked it :)
I suspect I'd have a lot if I were on my own, but not quite as many. :) hehe, I have started going to watch movies more at the cinema lately, which I enjoy very much *s* I just never got around to it before :)
I like big movies aswell, but most of the times I get kinda dissapointed (I have gotten picky lately *g*), because they do to much special effects and forget to tell a story or even try to get me to care about the character(s)..so if they die I just go "ohh, whatever" *lol*
*nods* I love M. Night Shyamalan movies aswell, Sixth sense is so good and Haley is such a great talent *s* which reminds me that I love Haley Joel Osment movies aswell, like "Pay It Forward" and "Second Hand Lions"
Signs is great and I really liked the Village *s* I love that M. Night Shyamalan always has such nice plot twists :)
I can send you The Reckoning. that would be great, thanks *hugs you tight* <3 <3
God, The Grave of the Fireflies. I really want to watch it. I need to sit down and make myself watch it. It's just so sad.
I love love quotes! Even the silly ones *looks over at hubby* We mostly quote in English though.
Hee! Do you know "Throw Momma from the Train"? It's a comedy with Billy Crystal, and I watched it yesterday. It is so funny! We always end up quoting from that one!
I got really put of by The Order when I watched it (and ended up not watching the entire movie) *shrugs* but might try to watch it again sometime :) Oh, don't bother. Really. It's an awful movie. Really. I didn't like it at all. I liked the fact that Mark Addy's in it (he played alongside Heath in A Knight's Tale and they are very believable friends) but that's it. Awful awful movie. It doesn't help that they casted a terrible German actor. Gah. Don't watch it. There are prettier Heath movies out there. :)
I like going to the cinema, but I have issues when it comes to having to watch a dubbed version. I wish I could choose! I only see big movies at the cinema, you know, the ones I suspect you just *have* to see on a big screen.
And heeee! Yes, a lot of big movies are just... well... big. And so do nothing for me. But I liked Troy a lot. With minor Brad-fancy-ing.
I love Signs so much! I love Merrill! Omg, he's such a great character! And the scene where he and Graham (?) run around the house to scare of the neighbour's kid! Priceless!
*snugs you* I'm off to bed now to catch some sleep before the interview :D
someone recommended it to me so I ended up watching it, I don't regret it..but sad :((
I love quotes aswell, I think that my friend and I could have entire conversations with just movie/tv show quotes *s* I always end up quoting LOTR (big suprise *g*) and all other movies or tv shows I have watched in my life *is uber geek*
Hee! Do you know "Throw Momma from the Train"? It's a comedy with Billy Crystal I think I have seen it, but was a long time ago :)
Gah. Don't watch it. There are prettier Heath movies out there. :) hehe, then I don't think I will bother :)
but I have issues when it comes to having to watch a dubbed version I can understand that, I would go crazy if they dubbed every movie to swedish *shudders* especially since swedish voice actors put no feeling into it (most of the time), I even go crazy when they dub anime into english (even if english voice actors aren't that bad, but it's just not the same *s*)
I only see big movies at the cinema, you know, the ones I suspect you just *have* to see on a big screen. I like Brad Pitt, but in Troy he was just so buffed up and greased up *shudders* *sorry* *sheepish grin*
Merrill is great, he's so quirky *loves*
And the scene where he and Graham (?) run around the house to scare of the neighbour's kid! Priceless! *nods head* I love that scene, Graham really is bad at swearing "Aaah. I am insane with anger" & "I'm losing my mind. It's time for an ass-whooping" *s*
and I'm really impressed by Rory Culkin (Morgan) in that movie aswell :)
*kisses your forhead* sleep tight *s* and don't worry, you will do great on the interview *snugs*
1) The other day I found this link to an article from 1999, when Jake was promoting October Sky. If you haven't seen it already, it's worth a read, as it has some entertaining bio info I hadn't seen before.
Jake Gyllenhaal: Rising Star Balances Homer and Hollywood (http://www.jessicaseigel.com/articles/jake.shtml)
I found it online after I saw a rumor online that Jake is considering starring in a remake of West Side Story. I googled to see if I could see any more authoritative source than a rumor on a list, and found this article, which reports that he was first noticed by a Hollywood talent scout while performing in a high school production of West Side Story.
2) I watched The Order a couple of months ago. It's utter crap, but what struck me were the slashy bits. Eg, Father Heath and his chubby companion relaxing on the bed together, while the alleged love interest sits on the sofa across the room. Father Heath sitting on the couch of the sin eater's home, blanket over his legs, having clearly spent the night (OK, on the couch, but it's a start). The many pregnant pauses and glances between Father Heath and the sin eater. Neither pairing excites me, but I couldn't miss the UST. Particularly given the utter lack of chemistry between Father Heath and his flaky ex girlfriend.
I've not seen A Knight's Tale, but it has its own slash archive (http://www.aknightstale.fanspace.com/").
I rented Ned Kelly yesterday, will watch it soon. I also rented Rushmore, a 1998 comedy that stars Jason Schwartzmann (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005403/), who I read somewhere was Richard Kelly's original choice to play Donnie Darko.
3) I remember Gattaca primarily for the cinematography. The stylized look of the movie, and dramatic shots, were among the most memorable I've seen. The hued colors (ie, it looks like black was added) and hard surfaces had the effect of making the normally chilly-seeming Uma Thurman look warm and vibrant by comparison.
