A general thing about the files I put in my LJ for download: If there is a file you're interested in, but the dl link has expired, feel free to request it and I'll upload it again (provided that I still have it.) I archive most files, so there is a good change that it's still around.

Does anyone know how to post something so it stays the first post in your LJ? I want to make one of those friends-only posts. :)

Date it well into the future (something like Jan 1st 2025), then backdate the post. If you're using Semagic then you can just check the Backdate Entry button in the console. If you're updating from LJ's web update page, click the 'edit' link next to the date, and select the 'date out of order' button once you've set the date well forward.

Doing that will ensure that your entry stays at the top of the page.

Some layouts have an option for a permanent, non-dated entry for announcements. Smooth Sailing and Expressive have it, I think. Dating far into the future messes up the sidebar calendar as it will only show that one future date.

I better go and see if my layout has an option like this. I like my sidebar calendar and don't want to go without it.
