When asked if he's seen the Aragorn action figure: "Is it horrible?" he winces. "Does it look like me? As long as it doesn't look like me, then there's no voodoo risk."

Oh dear. I laughed so hard, I was afraid I'd never stop again.

"I love driving. Just driving, driving, driving by the road. Suddenly you can think again. Like when you're wandering through hardwood forest, or in the mountains, or stand in a big, cold, mirroring lake, fishing. Then you are close to happiness; and what more can anyone want."

Driving sure takes your mind off other things. Unfortunately I don't have a drivers license. When I turned 18, I didn't have the money, and I still don't earn enough to afford it. I love being on the passengers seat though. Just sitting there, watching the landscape slide by, sometimes even without any music or sounds others than the car's very own... it's meditation.

"A couple of days ago, l looked at all the paintings, and I was like, "I don't know what these are." Then it snowballed. "What kind of actor am I anyway? What kind of father? I mean, what a joke. God, I'm such a vain, self-involved creature, and I should just stop making these things and inflicting them on people!" I can see why people jump out windows."

"Even though Tolkien was a devout Christian, the books don't assert that there is a heavenly reward for doing the right thing. Doing the right thing is it's own reward."

"I really believe that 98% of creation is accident, one percent is intellect and one percent is logic. You have to make the accidents work for you." -- Viggo to Dennis Hopper, Flaunt Magazine, April, 1999

''The general atmosphere was of controlled chaos,'' says Viggo Mortensen, who plays the haunted hero Aragorn. ''But a lot of inspired moments captured on film come from doubt and panic.'' (On what it was like on the set of Lord of the Rings)

I feel very Viggo-ish today ;)

"I'm much more interested in the process of what we are doing than what's going to happen," says Mortensen of his opportunity to become an action star, "because the process is what's real to me and where I'm going to learn something. It's the only thing that really matters to me."

"I've had my fun. I was there. I was part of that process( Lotr )"Most movies, big or small, there's not much to talk about afterwards. Either it was entertaining or it wasn't, or so and so was good in the movie or not. I think there is more to this, even though a lot of the poetry isn't there.

"It's a start and hopefully a certain proportion of them will go and read the book, if they haven't already."
and, if people like the movie, fine. It's not as directly connected to what I really did, or what anybody did, as a book I might write or a painting I might make.

"I don't know what I'm going to do next, much less how people might perceive what I do. I generally try to find something that instinctively feels right. Other than that, I don't really have a plan or an expectation of things. I'm not result-oriented in that way. I usually wait for something that feels right to do -- or I run out of money. It's usually the latter because it's not a very clever gamble."

I see you had a very vigo-ish time :)
nice word creation, though

But when I'm reading those lines, I've to say: "Yes sometimes I have to do the same things."

Like driving and driving without a destination. Just driving. It is freeing.
Also walking in the woods, only you and the sounds of nature surounds you.
(but not to forget the special person on your side. Because all these experiences are
nothing when you can't share them with the one you love. )

It seems that Vigo knows of what he is talking :)

What a pity for all the other men, that they have lost two such lovingly an bewitching women to Vigo *sigh*
