do you use power dvd? if so, turn off the distortion (ie. squishiness) of the capture by right-clicking on the camera/capture icon and selecting "capture to current window size" - then the dimensions will be right :)
I'm outing myself now as someone new to having a DVD ROM and to being able to screencap: Is PowerDVD good? I use a program a friend gave me, and can't remember the name right now...(I'm at uni, so I can't have a look.)
i think power dvd is generally the default one people use (unless you're on a mac) - just look for the capture options and mess with them until you can change those options.
