I resized some more of Viggo's pictures, but before I'll post them, I'm giving you these:
Audiofiles - rightclick-save-please
Viggo sings 1/2 Red, taken from Recent Forgeries
Chaco, taken from Recent Forgeries is a little Spanish poem that I adore. The fact that I love Viggo's voice when he reads Spanish has nothing to do with me posting this. Honestly.
Bedtime Story For Henry, also taken from Recent Forgeries, inspired me to write the short story "Bedtime Story". Especially for
llanowar1977 who liked my story. That's where I got the first spark to write it.

Date: 2004-02-29 04:10 pm (UTC)It's a good story :D
But to be honest I liked your story more *laugh*
Perhaps because I lived through a thunder storm like you described it.
So it was kind of personal for me :D

Date: 2004-02-29 04:13 pm (UTC)And thanks for prefering my story. *laughs* Very cheeky, but thanks.
It's really good to know that it was much more personal to you.

Date: 2004-03-02 03:35 am (UTC)I've heard him reading stuff before, but I've never heard it without music, really, or (in the first one,) with any sort of cohesion between the music and the words. I believe that I've mentioned to you before that I usually find this kind of stuff a little mockable if it's not done veryexactlyright, but this was so much better than what I've heard that I'm wondering if I've only heard really early stuff, and it's improved dramatically since then.
Word on the Spanish poem - I'm too tired right now, but I'll translate it in the morning, because I want to know what it says. Frustratingly, I speak just enough Spanish to read it fairly well, write it well enough when inspiration strikes, (I have one poem in Spanish that I quite liked - I've not read it in a year or two. I'll have to dig that out.) but I can't speak it for crap, and my comprehension of spoken Spanish is a bit dodgy.
More about my feelings on language than you cared to know, I'm sure.
Also, you know what you ought do with the paid accout? We ought get you a calling card so that you can make a phonepost of yourself reading some of your poetry. That'd be so rad, man. So rad.
More coherent stuff in the morning (afternoon), I should think - It's nearing seven a.m. now, though, and I've been up since about nine yesterday morning. I feel like I sleep less and les anymore - When there's things that I want done, sleep is always the first thing to get sacrificed for them. Bad habit.
Anyhow, thank you so much for posting those. I have them in my MP3 folder now so that I can listen to them over and over.
kisses.

Date: 2004-03-02 12:10 pm (UTC)If you want to, I can also put up some clips from Don't Tell Me What To Do (1993). The CD was recorded during a live broadcast, and it was the first one I got. It was also the first time I heard Viggo speaking Spanish and Danish. I don't need to stress that I still love this CD madly. :D
It would be great if you could translate Chaco. "Selva" is a part of a rainforest in Venezuela, I remember that one. The rest is kinda fuzzy, but if you want to I post the poem. I have the printed poem, you know? Maybe it's easier then.
And *eeek* Callingcard? I don't know how to do this and I don't know if my voice is "post worthy". But I do have a headset. Maybe I can find out how to record? Shouldn't be too hard. But eeeep! My voice? In my journal? That's scary. (Which is silly coming from a woman working at a call center...)
I hope you got lots of sleep. *hugs* Just tell me if you want to listen to some more tracks, I happily post them.
*kisses*

Date: 2004-03-02 02:56 pm (UTC)Translation of Chaco, as best I can manage:
Jackal
I fumble through the jungle
like the apes
with their teeth
perfect and yellow
without any fear
of the tigers
May not be exact, because I had to check the name-words, but I think that it's close enough.
C'mon, voice-post! So fun! I'm sure that your voice is just fine. Also, god, call centres. I did that for ages and do not miss it at all.
I might take you up on the offer of more tracks, but I'll see what I can find online first. I know I've a site bookmarked with a lot of his spoken stuff on it, and I've just never had time to listen to it.

Date: 2004-03-03 07:06 pm (UTC)That's pretty much how I remembered it! *eeeeeep* *hearts*
I was so incoherent right now, I almost wrote German :D
And voice post? Well, I recorder some clips, with my hubby's help. They'll be up in a minute. I wanted to do a hello entry too, but my hubby needs his sleep. My normal speeking voice is so different from my reading voice! At least that's what I think...
Speaking of audio: I have all of Viggo's CDs on my PC as mp3s. It was one of the first things I did, since I listen to a lot more music when I'm in front of my PC and winamp is so handy! So I'd just need to upload them, which is like no work at all.
:)
Thanks for translating! *eeep*

Date: 2004-03-04 03:52 am (UTC)Whatever, love. I can translate.
My normal speeking voice is so different from my reading voice!
Hee. I've never thought about that before, but you're probably right - I suspect that mine is well, now that I'm obsessing over it.
Well, I recorder some clips, with my hubby's help
Man. I've only just recently realised what amazing capabilities for voice stuff computers have - Voice chat on AIM or whatever - and now I'm just giddy with recording everything, because I'm immature like that.
So I'd just need to upload them, which is like no work at all.
Whee! Are you sure? I don't want to be a huge pain. (Yes, self, because bullying her into making audio posts isn't at all a pain, what are you thinking?) It's late, forgive me. That'd be fantastic, though, if you could upload a few more.
Okay, reallyreally, bed, because it's broad daylight now.

Date: 2004-03-04 01:03 pm (UTC)Voice chat on AIM You can do that? I didn't know! Heh, maybe I can borrow that headset... I normally just go and find the features I need to work. Picture editing programs, word and editor, ftp. I never even looked for audio recording. Sometimes I'm too lazy to bother. Or maybe 24 hours are just not enough for all the things I want to do.
Re: audio clips of Viggo, what do you want to hear? Did you catch some of the Don't Tell Me What to Do clips? You probably heard from pandemonium from america, right? Otherwise I just post whatever I like best today. :D
*hugs*

Date: 2004-03-05 02:44 am (UTC)No, love. I speak English, period. I can speak enough Spanish to shop, order food, insult people's mothers, and ask where a hospital is. I can read Spanish well enough that I can get the gist of most websites, and I can read enough French and German that I can function on sites, if need by, though I end up having to look a bunch of stuff up by the end of things. If you ever heard me speak a word of any of those languages, I'm sure that you'd laugh yourself silly at my awful pronunciation. Plus the fact that in order for me to hold a conversation, I'd need a dictionary and a book of grammar rules, and it'd take me five minutes to form a simple sentance. So translate German, sure, no problem. Write in it? Ha. I can write in Spanish, sometimes - I have a few poems in it, though I suspect that the words are a bit dodgy. But that's it.

Date: 2004-03-05 03:12 pm (UTC)So compared to my meager skills you know a lot. Which is fantastic. Really really.
*hugs*

Date: 2004-03-06 12:04 am (UTC)Also, you are fluent in two languages!! That is not meager! Shut up! nicely, but really, man. that's not at all meager.

Date: 2004-03-06 11:02 am (UTC)And yes! Post your poems! I won't mock you. I won't notice improper conjungations or grammar or whatever... I would notice if you misspelled "pollo asado", but that's it :D
Yes, maybe you're right. I just want to be able to speak more languages! *hugs*

Date: 2004-03-07 07:39 am (UTC)I probably have to find an online dictionary anyway, since I have misplaced mine.
Anyway, I can't wait! Well, okay, I can, I'm just curious.

Date: 2004-03-07 11:52 am (UTC)I can only find the one poem, but I'll post it with a translation so you don't have to do it all manually, because hi, that takes forever.
you're so nice, pretty. *loves*

Date: 2004-03-05 06:09 am (UTC)todayright now:I'm going to post tracks from pandemoniumfromamerica later on, when I'm back. The less popular pieces (that I'm madly in love with) since you already know "Halffling", "Gone" and "Maybe".
And Billy on Sharon? OMGdon'tgetmestarted because when it comes to Billy I'm the uberfangirl and so 12.
!!!

See you later, love!

Date: 2004-03-05 11:59 pm (UTC)OMG totally have at the Billy squee, because he's fucking amazing, and I've had it on repeat for like, since I downloaded it. Not because I'm obsessed. Because I'm dedicated.

Date: 2004-03-06 11:51 am (UTC)Oh, and Billy? As I said, don't get me started because he is amazing. I had the luck to see him in San Diego (the play) and he was absolutely brilliant. I took pictures! You can see them here (http://www.bagendinn.com/Billy/other.asp) under San Diego. (Duh.) Fantastic play. I squeed myself silly (afterwards in the hotel, thankfully.)
Since I know that he can sing, like really really sing, I'm even more, um, dedicated.

Date: 2004-03-07 01:06 am (UTC)Re: Billy. Have you not yet realised that I enjoy the fangirling squee? Because . . . I do. A lot. And I adore him, man. He's so cute, and so fucking talented. The first time that I heard him sing I literally stopped everything that I'd been doing to listen to him, I was so amazed.
Also, the San Diego pics: Maybe this is just me, but had I not known that it was Billy in the second to last pic, I would have thought it was Dom. Is that weird?

Date: 2004-03-07 09:41 am (UTC)Re: Billy: the first time I heard him sing was after I downloaded the mp3 of Steward of Gondor. Omg. Isn't he amazing? And he's such a lovely man, so very kind and gentle and nice. Ouch, sounds like I'm 12 again :D But he is.
Re: Pics: Nah. I have a good memory for people's faces and the way they stand, so I hardly mix up anybody. I'm not that good with names though. Besides, in some pictures Billy and Dom look very much alike. Once they even had the same highlights in their hair.
Um. Dedicated, not obsessed.

Date: 2004-03-07 11:25 am (UTC)Re: Billy: I respect him so much. Maybe that's a weird word, respect, but I think that it's true of my feelings, especially for him, Dom, and Viggo - Yes, they're amazingly mindbogglingly hot, but they're the sort of people who I'd crush on anyhow, even if I'd never seen them, because they're so talented and. . .I want to say involved with things, though I suspect that it's not really what I'm trying to say. I'm going to go with it, though, and assume that you're catching me, because we seem to have similar thought patterns in this. But really, I never fail to be surprised by exactly how talented he is. I keep going "okay, damn." and then he goes does something else and I have to readjust my previous view of how great he was and make it greater, you know?
Re: The pic: I'm good with names, good with faces, and bad at connecting the two, but I'm generally really good at recognising people from behind, and the way that Billy's standing in that pic made me go "wait, dom?" It might just be me, though. Also, they had the same highlights? How cute!

Date: 2004-03-12 08:54 am (UTC)Re: Billy: Oh I know. Maybe it is respect. Sometimes it's so hard to put such feelings into words. They all seem so dedicated. They put so much heart into things. I'm amazed at the myriad of things Viggo does. He involved in tons of things, art related and otherwise, and he's so modest about it. I guess this makes him some kind of rolemodel for me. In a way. Aww, I think you get my ramblings.
re: the pic: Sometimes they're very much alike, aren't they? I love that. And the highlights had me squeeing for days. Because I'm a fangirl like that. Wasn't there a little snippet around that they went to the same coiffeur when Dom visited Bill in Scotland? I'm a sucker for little facts like that. And there is this brilliant Japanese restaurant in Glasgow. I couldn't help myself but wonder if both were there at some time.

Date: 2004-03-12 02:34 pm (UTC)Re: Billy/Viggo again. I totally get the ramblings, hon. I'm amazed by people who are so creative and talented in so many areas, you know?
Re: Highlights: I totally missed that, dude. Totally missed. I didn't even know that Dom'd gone to Scotland. I'm totally bad at this kind of thing.
