Artsy entries. I have scanned, resized and uploaded several photos taken by a Mr Viggo Mortensen. And I have wafers. With chocolate. Dangerous indeed.

3 pm, 1998 is one of my favorites. But then again, I think all photos I posted here are.

*********

Home, 1990 I feel indifferent posting this one. Yes, it appeared in Recent Forgeries, so it is a published picture, but it seems so intimate.

At the Forum, 1998

Home, 1998 Never fear art, wher ever you may find it. *hugs [livejournal.com profile] vegetariansushi* It's almost silly to use it in this context. But that's the way my working room would look if I'd lived on my own. When I work on my poems or pictures, I can't be bothered to put things away. There is too much inspiration in every piece. Thankfully, I work on a pc now. It seldom looks that cluttered nowadays. (Only if I look through my papers and notes... but I try not to do that too often... my poor hubby!)

Lost, #1-4, 2000 is a series of unreal photographs with a long story behind it that Viggo sometimes tells in an interview. I love the ghostliness of those photos. Eerie.

**********

Cheek, 2000 I'm fascinated by the colours and detail.

*********

Fell, 2000 reminds me off a poem by D.H. Lawrence.

That's it. Hope you enjoyed.

Ooh, dude. Thank you so much for posting these, because I'd only seen Lost 1 - 4 before this. You're right about the intimacy of some of them - I feel positivey vouyeristic looking at Home 1990 and At the Forum. Also, Home 1998 is awesome, because that's very much how my work areas generally look, only that I'm not such a fan of Miller Genuine Draft. I like that there's a liquor bottle standing in the middle of the picture, just like "hi." And Cheek is awesome. Graffiti is so neat, sometimes.

God. I was going to say something more interesting, but I just managed to literally fall asleep at the keyboard, so I'm going to go lie down for a few, I should think.

Thank you so so much for posting those, though. *loves*

I don't think many people post any of Viggo's work. Maybe that's because of copyright issues.
But I couldn't resist, and since my journal is not that, um, let's say popular, I don't see any damage in promoting his works. :D

Aww. I think that you're popular!

Anyhow, if anything, I think that this is making me more likely to try and buy some of his stuff. I've been justifying with "I can't afford it, I can't afford it, I can't afford it." I'm starting to think, though, that I have to find a way to afford it, because I want.

Oh, they're not that expensive! It's just that I have to order them via a friend who has a credit card and then I have to pay customs. But Perveval Press is wonderful, no matter how much I have to pay, the always write 5 Dollar as value onto the little sticker thingy. Which basically means that I don't have to pay any extra fee.

Ooops, I'm tired. Do I make any sense?

But I'm so glad that you like his works so much that you're trying to buy some of it. :D

I know that they're not insanely expensive, but I live on grants and loans for school, and have a baby. So for me, buying even a $5.99 trade paper book is a stretch, sometimes. So even art books that aren't particularly expensive tend to be a little out of my range.

When I win the lottery, I swear, I'm buying a library.

You're right of course. I'm glad I do odd jobs for a translation office otherwise I'd never be able to buy something extra. I got most of Viggo's books as presents. Lucky me.

What kind of books are your favorites? If there is such a thing.

Mmm, presentbooks. That's so great.

I think that my favourite books are the ones with pages. I feel that pages are very important in a book.

But seriously, I read everything from history to fantasy/sci fi to true crime and proper literature. I'm not at all picky. I'll read the back of a bottle of shampoo if I'm without anything else to read. What are yours? (Do you have one?)

No, not at all. I read everything I can get my hands on. :) Another reason to love LJ: I can read stuff for free! Whee!

Hee. I love that, and I think that I've found some amazing writers who are better than many published authors on livejournal. I feel like I experience so much, learn so much, and am so constantly entertained by what y'all post that I sometimes feel guilty for taking so freely, you know? But then someone posts something else and I get distracted and forget to feel guilty and go back to squeeing, so whatever.
