I was wondering... is it a naughty thing not to tell somebody about an event in one's life so this person cannot spoil it? When it's an important event? That I don't want to have spoilt by anyone for whatsoever reason?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me! If you have something you don't want no-one to know about I think its fine to not tell anyone. Just wanted to show support there or something ;)
