Feb. 23rd, 2004 08:00 pmAs some of you will know, I write short stories and poetry. My latest story is longish, or rather is turning into something like a novel. I don't know yet.
I tried a new way of writing, something I wanted to try all along. Basically I follow Joseph Campbell's theory of the Hero's Journey. Right now my protagonist is at the beginning, the challenge part of said journey, and he is about to accept the challenge. It's exciting to work like this.
Anyway, I asked a collegue who does fantastic drawings if he'd be interested in doing some cover art for me. He said yes. So I gave him my story. No instructions. He told me today that doing drawing for me is great fun and that he likes the story a lot. He said he did several sketches already and will bring them along to work next week. O.o
I feel artsy. I forgot how much fun it is to work together with someone, to create something with someone.
