gacked from [livejournal.com profile] patsie

this is the problem with livejournal, we all think we are so close, and we know nothing about each other. i'm going to rectify it. i want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. then post this in your livejournal and find out what people don't know about you.

This is gonna be.. tough. Err.

*ponders*

..

How long have you been reading fanfiction? When did you start and how were you introduced to it?

Wow. An actual question. From me. *grin*

[identity profile] kohaku1977.livejournal.com 2004-07-28 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Teeheehee.

I started reading fanfic 7 years ago... when I started uni. I had internet access there and stumbled upon fanfic for The Sentinel... and slash fanfic.

So, yeah, no one introduced me. I found out myself. Even about slash. What I didn't know was that I was writing fanfic for quite some time then. I just hadn't known what it was called. And I didn't know it could be quite so addictive!

And I thought you'd asking when we'll meet for real snogging! *pouts* Teeheehee.

Nice. Heeee. My girl is so resourceful. *hugs*

And by the way, honey, it would've been my next question. After the marriage question. *grin*

Oho!

*smooches*

Yeah, it was nice discovering fanfic all by myself! And slash. Oh my. Imagine my surprised face! <3

*loves you*

only one question? :)

[identity profile] barefootatkheb.livejournal.com 2004-07-30 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
*ponders* how long have you been writing stories and such? (I don't think I have asked you that before *s*)

Heee! *purrs* You can ask me as many questions as you like. Teehee.

Okay, I've been writing stories since I could write basically, but all was lost when I chose English in 11th grade. That was like a revelation- I fell in love with the language, and English and American literature. I discovered authors I loved, and just knew I wanted to write in English.

I started writing fanfic in 1996, I think. But I didn't know what it was called back then. I wrote missing scenes for my favorite TV series, stuff like that. When I started uni, I got internet access, and discovered fanfic and slash. Whee!

I started to write more seriously a few years ago. Okay, about 6 years ago (I'm getting old ;). I joined Creative Writing classes, and got my first story published two years ago, I think. Time's running so fast right now... maybe it was only one and a half year ago. Dunno.

So yeah. I think the quality of my writings (not necessarily fandom writings though *blushes*) has improved a lot. This year I won the Daniil Pashkoff Prize for Short Story written by a non native speaker. Long title, but a nice second prize. :D

Same with poetry. I started writing both during my studies. So yay for my uni and my favorite prof, who encourages Creative Writing so much.

And I love love love your icon. I should write another N/G... Now that I have talked about writing, I feel like it :D

:)

I was truly amazed at how big slash was, when I started checking out the net (forums, LJ) *s* just boggles the mind :)
