Do you know what makes me insanely happy?

I finally caved and bought the first book of the series. God, I love it. I'm not very far into the story since I only read on the short tram ride to work, but I love it already. Normally, I'm not one for historic novel, I just love Jack Aubrey so much! And Stephen of course. And their sekrit flirtations. <3

There is this scene where Stephen and Jack talk about Catalan. Jack thinks it is very much like Spanish and Stephen assures him it's not.

'You astonish me. I had no notion of it. Another language, sir? But I dare say it is much the same thing - a
putain, as they say in France?'
'Oh no, nothing of the kind - not like it at all. A far finer language. More learned, more literary. Much nearer the Latin. And by the by, I believe the word is
patois, sir, if you will allow me.'
'
Patois - just so. Yet I swear the other is a word: I learnt it somewhere,' said Jack.

:D

*sigh* I brought the first book when the movie comes out... but I have yet to start reading it pass half of page one. *face palm* Though I have to agree, from a person who doesn't like a lot of history, this book still manage to lure me in. :D

I love Master and Commander, the books are really excellent, my dad is really into them so my mom and I assumed that they would be boring, but we both read them and loved them as well.
