Leaving on a Jet Plane

Okay, that's my last post for a little over a week. I'm leaving for Paris tomorrow.

I hope you all will have a good time, be naughty, play nice, enjoy yourselves.

I love you all a whole lot. Those whose adress I have will probably hear from me via snail mail. I'll be back on the 16th, but probably not online before the 17th. I bet I run to the pc as soon as the hubster opens the door. God, he hates when I do that, but can I help it? No.

I'll miss you all. <3

Oh, and a little plea: could you keep your eyes open for anything that might interest me? Anything I just need to know? Personal or fandom. If you got time, could you post a link in my comments section? Because I can't check LJ on holiday, and I'm dying to miss anything. And there is no way that I can keep up with a whole week around here. You guys are crazy posting monkeys! <3

And um, Llanowar? Silme? Any Jake news have to go under comments. Definitely. Please? Please? And yes, that is me being deperate.

Hello. I just friended you. <3

I was pointed this way by loreley_se because I fell for Jake Gyllenhaal a little while ago, I fell hard, and now I can't stop talking about him. At least not in my LJ. And I'm *so* looking forward to Brokeback Mountain.

Jake was on two cooking shows. This week, someone saw him on the Food Network on something called Molto Mario, helping the chef make gnocchi. A couple of weeks ago, someone saw him, Maggie, and their mother on a cooking show where Jake danced. They didn't catch the name of the show, but someone else suggested it must have been Emeril, since he has a live studio band. I don't get Food Network, so I don't know anything about it.

I'm quite ignorant of Paris or Europe, unfortuneately. But I have a couple of new (to me) Jake pix to share:

I don't know where this is from originally. But if Jake were to become a vampire, I imagine this is how he would look. He wouldn't adopt the swirling-cape Dracula look; that's too old-fashioned. Instead, he would acquire the look of a dandy at the time that vampire movies were invented. He's already got the hypnotic eyes. Can't you just see the little fangs peeking out against his lower lip?

I've not heard of Alt magazine before. But I love that quote near the end, about making out with Darth Vader. There's a visual image I can't forget.

I've seen this one before. It was in some issue of Teen Vogue. This is the one that made me think his eyes were a highly unusual lapis lazuli blue. Now I think he must have been wearing contacts, or the photo editor Photoshopped his eyes to match the blue in the background.

I saw a movie preview a couple of days ago for a new movie with Maggie Gyllenhaal, called Criminal (http://www.themoviebox.net/movies/2004/0-9ABC/Criminal/main.html). It looks like a comedy about a con artist. Maggie plays the crook's sister. The movie will open as a "limited" release in the US on Sept. 10.
